Davis Campbell Joins the Stuart Foundation Board of Directors

The Stuart Foundation announces the election of Davis Campbell to the Board of Directors. Campbell is a Senior Fellow at the University of California, Davis, School of Education and maintains an active consulting practice in effective governance at the local, state, national and international levels.

Campbell is the President of the Governance Institute for the California School Boards Association and currently serves on a number of state level boards focused on improving public education including EdSource (President, 2007-2009), the Center for the Future of Teaching and Learning (founding board President), the California Institute for School Improvement, and the California Cities, Counties and Schools Partnership (founding board member).

Campbell served as Executive Director of the California School Boards Association (CSBA) from 1988 to 2001. Prior to his retirement from CSBA, Campbell was Executive Director of the California Institute for School Improvement. From 1977 to 1983 he served as Deputy State Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of California.

In his community, Campbell is an elected Trustee of the Yolo County Board of Education, Commissioner for the Yolo County Aging and Adult Services Commission and a member of the Board of Advisors for the UC Davis, School of Education. Campbell and his wife have lived in Davis, California since 1965.
