Stuart Foundation and Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation Merge Assets

April 23, 2010

The Boards of the Stuart Foundation in San Francisco, California and the Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation in Beverly Hills, California have announced a merger of assets effective April 1, 2010.  The Stuart Foundation and Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation were established by related donors and both are dedicated to improving opportunities for children and young people.  This merger is a natural evolution that will result in management efficiencies and contribute to the long-term philanthropic goals of the donors.

“The Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation will become the Dwight Stuart Youth Fund (DSYF), a dedicated fund of the Stuart Foundation,” said Stuart Foundation Board Chairman Dwight L. Stuart, Jr. “The funding interests and operations of DSYF will remain virtually unchanged; our grantmaking focus will remain dedicated to serving the children and youth of Los Angeles County.”  The DSYF offices and staff will remain in the current Los Angeles location and the current Board of Directors of DSYF will continue to make funding decisions for the newly created Fund.

The Dwight Stuart Youth Fund is dedicated to supporting children and youth throughout Los Angeles county so they may gain the skills, values, and confidence to achieve their potential.  DSYF funds in four areas: Education Enrichment, Mentoring, Leadership, and School Readiness.  Organizations interested in applying to DSYF for a grant should visit the DSYF website for funding guidelines and the application process.
