Youth & Communities
Utilizing a whole-community approach connecting individuals, families and communities to create positive youth development and productive and responsible citizens.
Growing up is challenging under the best of circumstances. For youth living in disadvantaged communities, the transition to adulthood can be significantly challenging, especially in the absence of family, school, and community support.
Youth development, contextualized in the communities in which a young person lives, is fundamental to helping young people discover and develop the interests and skills that will lead them to become productive and responsible citizens.
Stuart Foundation's Youth & Communities Program strives to equip young people with new assets and choices where few previously existed. We support organizations that demonstrate passion and commitment to connecting with youth, helping them develop new skills, and improving their outlook and their prospects.
Our focus on experiential learning, community schools, and opportunities for accessing and succeeding in college seeks to ensure that young people discover their passions, envision bright futures, and gain encouragement and support from adult allies and peers along the way. We partner with some of the nation's most innovative, effective, and efficient programs, and always search for new ways to help youth choose their path, whether it leads to college, employment, or some other form of productive, responsible citizenship.
