Our Grantmaking Approach
The Stuart Foundation supports organizations that create opportunities for children and youth; that support and educate them; and that help them discover and achieve their full potential.
We believe that teachers, social workers and community members who invest their time and unique abilities to help children need support, guidance and recognition to sustain their valuable work.
We look for partners that:
- Develop innovative programs and practices that support and expand the potential of young people.
- Promote public policy that improves conditions for children and youth.
- Help build the capacity of public and non-profit organizations devoted to creating and expanding opportunities for children.
- Focus on innovative projects that can be broadly replicated or that demonstrate important lessons.
The Stuart Foundation dedicates time, money, expertise and advocacy to each relationship. We see ourselves as partners and conveners who can help gather the resources, thought and energy needed to make real change on behalf of children and youth. Many of our relationships are long-term, with some spanning over a decade of successful collaboration.
